PDOT Initiative — Pre-Departure Orientation Training
Aligned with the MEA's 'Surakshit Jaaye, Prashikshit Jaaye' motto, the Pre-Departure Orientation Training (PDOT) prepares emigrants for life and work abroad.
In alignment with the Ministry of External Affairs motto 'Surakshit Jaaye, Prashikshit Jaaye, Vishwas ke Saath Jaaye', MEA started its flagship program, Pre-Departure Orientation Training (PDOT) in 2018.
Online PDOT Registration: To ensure seamless delivery during COVID-19, MEA introduced Online PDOT modules, allowing emigrants to complete training as per their convenience and download completion certificates.
This free 8-hour orientation training prepares emigrants with essential information about their destination country, including culture, language, regulations, and their rights. The program has expanded from 4 centers to 58 across India in partnership with State Governments and NSDC.
Benefits of PDOT include learning about the culture, language and regulations of destination countries to ensure safety and security, and awareness of welfare measures by the Indian Government.

The ASMACS Marine Team carried out the conversion onboard the decommissioned vessel — complete with electromechanical, air-conditioning and plumbing work — turning MV Crown into a full-fledged accommodation for over 1,300 personnel, completed within the allotted time.
